V.F.D. Eye Redesignby ~human-groveback

I am a fan of A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket. A recurring theme in the series is the V.F.D. Read the books to get the whole story. A summary is as follows:
V.F.D. is a secret organization dedicated to the promotion of literacy & prevention of fires, both literal fires-such as arson-& figurative fires-such as riots. This deviation is my redesign of the logo, which is the letters "V.F.D." disguised as an eye. I made the "F" look more "F"-like, while keeping it subtle. I also put an iris & pupil design in the "D". I didn't realize this was a sad occasion, Sebald code, Verse Fluctuation Declaration, Verbal Fridge Dialog, Violet Baudelaire, Klaus Baudelaire, Sunny Baudelaire, grammar code. I did this in Pinta.

Aha, another Snicket fan on deviantart! Wow, I like this a lot better, the eye looks much more edgy and maybe a little sarcastic. Fits well for an organization whose members ended up turning to the sides of both good and evil.

Basically, I was miffed that the canon design didn't include anything hinting at the "F". The pupil/iris detailing is based on that seen in the eye as seen in the Caligari Carnival sign in the opening illustration for A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book the Ninth: The Carnivorous Carnival. I was looking for something that had the "V.F.D." initials, yet would still be often mistaken for an eye. Ergo, I took the canon design image off of the Wikipedia article, & added those things.

Yes, I heard the idea. I'm doing a fan-fiction called The Temporal Truant. It's an ASoUE/Doctor Who crossover. It involves all 11 incarnations of the Doctor. At 1 point, The Doctor & The Baudelaires form a band called "The Temporal Truants". Lineup:
Violet on the theremin
Klaus on the harmonica
Sunny on ocarina
7th Doc on spoons
2nd Doc on recorder
3rd Doc on vocals
There's gonna be a prequel series to ASoUE, set before Violet was born. We'll know the truth about The Great Unknown.
