                              • Basically, if somebody tries to hurt her boyfriend, she will turn into a ray-gun machine gun turret & make them unable to walk without pain for 6 weeks.
                            • In general, if you are a man, she'll probably challenge you to a fight &/or a drinking competition. If both, there's a good chance she'll win both. If, afterwards (regardless of which of the 2 she wins or loses, or if she wins both/neither), it turns out she wants to date you, she'll then take an aggressive lead in anything sexual that happens. In fact, beating her in either 1 raises the chances of her wanting to date you. If you win both, it seals the deal.

                          • Knows all when it comes to theoretical physics & experimental physics
                        • Powers:
                          • Shapeshifting: Boom Spider has limitless polymorphic abilities, able to copy the shape, voice, & abilities of whatever or whoever she disguises as. Her abilities are strong enough that she's able to copy the abilities inherent to the materials that whatever she's disguised as is made of (despite the fact that her personal chemical makeup does not change from shifting). For example, when disguised as a fallout shelter, she'll block radiation & be unaffected by it herself. She can even disguise herself as an inanimate object with moving parts & copy the abilities of it. For example, she'll be able to fire when disguised as a projectile weapon. The laws of thermodynamics are compensated for via dimensional shunting of material where appropriate
                          • Webbing: Boom Spider can produce webbing from the tip of her abdomen (in human form, located over where the tailbone would be on an an actual human). Unlike most arachnid-themed supers, she only uses it for laying traps. Elaborated below
                          • Pyrokinesis: Boom Spider can manipulate fire in any form she's in. However, her access to this power is dependent on the fat supply in her body. See below.
                          • Telepathy: Machika can read minds, allowing her to get a hold over people she's going after
                          • Suggestion: Tying with the telepathy above, Machika can use her mental hold to seduce her victim via false details about herself.
                          • Super Strength: Boom Spider can wield dual Gatling Guns.
                          • Super speed: Machika can run at 300.3 miles per hour.
                          • Vibration sense: In addition to the classic "spider-sense", she can sense ground vibrations to the point she can tell where they're coming from, as a result of her arachnoid physiology.
                          • Wall-crawling: Serrations in her nails allow her to go up a wall or even over a ceiling, at minimal damage. Her footwear has adapters so she can do this without being barefoot.
                          • Poison: Machika's canine teeth are articulated, & contain venom glands (like the chelicerae of a spider). The Poison is capable of damaging a human, leaving them with a disgusting multicolored mark when they get poisoned
                          • Warp bag: Like all Jorogumo (&, in fact, Yokai in General), Machika is able to open a small space-hole to store stuff in.
                          • HUD: Another universal Yokai ability. Machika has a personal video game-style HUD as a manifestation of her psychic abilities. This gives her personal contextually appropriate vital information. See below for more info.
                          • Regeneration: If she gets hurt badly enough in combat, her physical health condition goes back to its pre-injury state in 30 seconds without help. Even though she can regrow limbs, they tend to regenerate over a random period of time.
                          • Explosive resistance: Without protective gear, Boom Spider takes 75% less damage than most people would from explosions. She blows up the ground she's standing on to help herself jump higher, for crying out loud! Her special armor (designed to give maximum protection without reducing her movement speed or weighing her down) further reduces the damage, so explosives only do 5% of their normal damage to her. This "heavy armor" (reduces damage taken from combat by 80%, taking resistances into account & reducing further as appropriate) has a built-in infinite HEV charger, allowing the armor's "damage absorption" fuel to regenerate. This ability also applies to damage taken from gunpowder ammunition, piercing non-gunpowder projectiles (like darts, arrows, & nails), & non-melee attacks in general as well
                          • Potentially lethal blow survivability increase (or as Machika herself jokingly calls it, "critical hit resistance"): Potentially lethal blows do 10% their normal damage to her (2% with armor)
                          • Super jump: Machika can jump 4.5 feet or higher
                          • Fireproof.
                        • Items:
                          • Weapons:
                            • Slot 1:
                              • 2 General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Guns, commonly known as "Miniguns". They contain the following modifications:
                                • A system that makes them man-portable
                                • Dual barrel sets that rotate in opposite directions
                                • Dual-chambered magazines. Each chamber has a capacity of 15,000 bullets, for a total magazine capacity of 30,000 bullets. The usual maximum magazine size of a General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Gun is 5,000 bullets.
                                • Each "bullet" contains 4 slugs per shell, with the result of functioning as a Gatling shotgun.
                                  • The slugs are made out of a Substance called "Australium", which was believed to disappear from history following the Arms Dealers versus Robot War of 1972. The result is that the bullets are able to destroy 2 launcher-based explosive projectiles in a row without any effects to the bullet itself. It should be noted that, unusually, this variant of Australium is not radioactive in a way that is harmful to carbon-based life.
                                  • The slugs can penetrate up to 3 targets in a row before stopping.
                                • Devices attached that link to Machika's psychic abilities can charge up a shockwave that knocks enemies back, which is engaged by pressing the gun's panic button (all of her slot 1s have this).
                                • Gives her 100 vitality points upon an incapacitating or killing blow (all of her projectile damage dealers in slot 1 have this)
                                • The fire rate is extended from General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Gun's usual 0.01 seconds to 0.006 seconds.
                                • A mechanism that lets the barrels spin without firing
                                • All of her primaries have a "tightening spread & increasing damage during spin" property. Maximum damage & spread tightness are achieved after 1 second of maximum spin speed, & reset upon deactivating the "spin without firing" mode.
                              • 2 M1893 Motorized Gatling Guns.
                                • The slugs do 20% more damage to whatever they hit than those of Machika's General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Guns.
                                • The firing rate is a slightly slower 1 round every 0.024 seconds
                                • They take 50% longer (at 1.305 seconds) to reach a firing-capable rotation rate when spun up.
                                • Additionally, she has 50% resistance to all damage while she has them spun up (all of her damage resistance stuff stacks).
                                • Otherwise, the weapons function identically (& are modified identically) to Machika's General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Guns.
                                • Smaller primary clip capacity/reserve capacity (1,200 loaded/12,000 reserve)
                              • 2 General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Guns with silver decorative ammunition belts & black-colored magazines. They function identically to the other pair of guns of this model, save for the following:
                                • reducing any moving target's speed by 75% upon hit, regardless of distance.
                                • 50% bigger magazine capacity/reserve pool capacity (45,000 per gun/900,000 total reserve).
                                • 20% damage resistance granted to the user when spun up (Per gun)
                                • 25% damage reduction
                              • 2 guns seemingly made from a combination of parts from M1928 Thompson Submachine Guns & General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Guns. They function identically to Machika's standard General Electric Model 134 High Rate 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter North Atlantic Treaty Organization Machine Gun series Gatling Guns, save for the following:
                                • having only twin single barrels
                                • a 75% increase in deployment speed
                                • no deployment sound (all of Machika's other primaries have a distinctive "barrel spin sound")
                                • These weapons' deployment time is 0.2175 seconds, as opposed to the 0.87 seconds of the others
                                • 20% tighter projectile spread
                                • 20% slower firing speed
                                • Same reserve size.
                              • 2 custom machine guns, designed to look like an antique brass design. They function identically to the other machine guns, save for the following:
                                • only twin single barrels
                                • being able to channel Machika's fire manipulation abilities in the form of a "fire ring" with an area of effect:
                                  • Anything lit with them will stay lit for 10 seconds
                                  • The ring does 15 life essence damage (18.75 if the victim was already on fire)
                                  • The ring's clip has 300 rounds in it (consumes 2 rounds at a time - 1 per mag chamber, meaning 2 fire rings - every 0.6 seconds while spun up. The ring activates regardless of "going straight to fire" or "firing from deployed mode").
                                • Primary has a 90% slower attack interval (0.06 seconds)
                                • Smaller primary clip capacity/reserve capacity (1,200 loaded/12,000 reserve)
                            • Primary Sidearms:
                              • 1 Ruzh'yo Bandayevskogo RB-12 semi-automatic shotgun with the following upgrades:
                                • A magazine with a capacity of 18 rounds, instead of the usual six.
                                • The ability to penetrate 1 target before stopping.
                                • Machika carries 180 spare shells
                                • Gives her 100 vitality points upon an incapacitating or killing blow (all of her projectile damage dealers in slot 2 have both this & the penetration)
                                • In a pinch, she can get at least 0.24 seconds between shots
                                • She can do a full empty reload (preparation, mag swap/ammo unit transfer, cock, post-cock top-off, recovery) in 1.4 seconds flat
                              • 1 AR-12 Shotgun system. The weapon functions identically to Machika's Ruzh'yo Bandayevskogo RB-12 semi-automatic shotgun as far as upgrades, save for the following:
                                • A 24-round magazine
                                • a reserve of 240 rounds
                                • a 15% increase in maximum firing speed (can do at least 0.2124 seconds between shots with it).
                                • a 15% reduction in damage
                              • 1 SRM Arms Model 1208 Semi-automatic shotgun. Its upgrades are identical to those of Machika's Ruzh'yo Bandayevskogo RB-12 semi-automatic shotgun, save for the following:
                                • A 24-round magazine
                                • a reserve of 240 rounds
                                • In a pinch, she can get at least 0.21 seconds between shots
                                • She can do a full empty reload in 2.4 seconds flat (0.3 seconds preparation, 1.68 seconds from initiation of empty mag removal to completion of post-cock top-off, 0.42 seconds for recovery)
                              • 1 set of Ramen, fully heals her from all newly-acquired combat injuries upon being eaten, recharges in 6 seconds. Machika can also drop it & pick it up again to both fully heal herself & instantly regenerate it. Additionally, if she gives it to her allies, it heals all of their combat-related injuries by 50%. She can also drop it for allies to pick up (complete with plate), after which it recharges as normal. If she herself either picks it up after dropping it, grabs medical supplies when simultaneously at full health and full medical inventory, or visits a supply depot, it instantly recharges it to full. She uses this item to heal herself between fights.
                              • 1 bison steak. When Machika eats it, her maximum speed is increased by 35% (to 405.405 miles per hour) & attacks dealt by her do 35% more damage (she takes 10% more damage herself while the effects are active). It recharges after 6 seconds & its effects last for 16 seconds. Picking it up when dropped & being used by allies both function identically to how those actions do in her ramen. She uses this item to move around the battlefield quicker than she normally has to.
                              • 1 box of Pocky chocolates. When Machika eats them, all fresh combat-related injuries are healed by 1/3. Additionally, it adds an extra 1/3 to her vitality stat. She mostly uses this against constant waves of monsters & things bearing down on her, as the box's infinite supply & lack of a need to "recharge" allows her to continuously stay healed while being ganged up on. Machika can also drop it & pick it up again to fully heal herself. Additionally, if she gives it to her allies, it heals all of their combat-related injuries by 20.5%. She uses this item to heal herself between fights.
                              • An infinite orange slice that heals 2/3 of her max health when she eats it, which takes her a total of 4.3 seconds. It recharges in 2.2 seconds. Giving it to allies causes it to heal of the recipient's combat-related injuries by 20.5 percent. She can also drop it for allies to pick up (complete with plate), after which it recharges as normal. Picking it up when dropped, grabbing medical supplies when simultaneously at full health and full medical inventory, or visiting a supply depot instantly recharges it to full.
                            • A Box-magazine variant Remington 870 that functions identically to her RB-12, save for the following:
                              • 50% faster deployment
                              • 50% more pellets per shot
                              • fires 30% faster (at least 1.44 seconds between shots)
                              • reloads 50% faster (Can go from beginning of pre-reload preparation to end of post-reload recovery - in the event of empty clip - in 1.2 seconds flat)
                            • Secondary sidearm:
                              • 1 Luigi Franchi Società per Azioni Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun-15.
                                • 24 rounds in its magazine, instead of its usual 8.
                                • Machika carries 720 rounds in this weapon's reserve pool.
                                • She can do a full empty reload in 1.8 seconds flat (0.24 seconds preparation, 1.2 seconds from initiation of empty mag removal to completion of post-cock top-off, 0.36 seconds for recovery)
                                • In a pinch, she can get at least 0.3 seconds between shots
                                • Gives her 100 vitality points upon an incapacitating or killing blow
                                • Pellets can penetrate 1 target before stopping.
                            • Melee:
                              • Her own bare fists. She can do 65 vitality point damage per hit at a rate of 0.48 seconds. All of her melee slot weapons heal her for 100 vitality points upon a KO
                              • 1 pair of boxing gloves that give Machika triple damage to all her weapons for 5 seconds after making a kill (timer stacks with each successive kill with all weapons afterward, then wears off 5 seconds after most recent kill), as well as giving her & her surrounding allies 50 vitality point healing & a 10% increase in their chance of guaranteed triple damage with all weapons upon a killing blow, at the cost of a 20% slower attack interval. She uses this against groups of enemies in corners.
                              • A pair of boxing gloves that contains a stimulant system which increases her speed by 30% (to 390.39 miles per hour). Stacking this with her steak allows her to run at 495.495 miles per hour. She uses these for ambushes
                              • A pair of Robotic Gauntlets that generates a force field that reduces damage taken from non-melee attacks by 40%, meaning with all of the above resistances, any non-melee attack that isn't a critical hit does only 3% of what it would normally deal. This includes non-melee attacks already suffering from damage falloff (reduced damage over distance) or benefiting from damage ramp-up (damage increased further with reduction of distance between attacker & projectile). This reduction also means critical hits do 1.2 percent of their full damage. She uses these when she needs to cross through open areas & retreat from heavy firefights.
                              • A pair of bear-paw gloves that do 30% more damage than Machika's bare fists, as well as healing 110 vitality points to the user on a successful hit (150 on a killing blow). She uses these when she needs to kill faster
                              • A pair of spiked brass knuckles that contain a stimulant system that allows Machika to punch twice as fast (0.24 seconds as opposed to 0.48 seconds with all of her other melee weapons) & a 15% movement speed boost when deployed, as well as a further 3-second 31% speed boost upon hitting an enemy. She uses these to get a lot of punches in.
                              • A pair of weighted mittens that not only do triple damage from behind, but contain electrical nerve stimulation devices that cause the victim to laugh uncontrollably, leaving them helpless, allowing her allies to finish them off when she can't do so herself.
                            • Grenades:
                              • 4 Mark 2 defensive Fragmentation Hand Grenades (popularly known as "pineapple grenades")
                              • 4 hexagonal polyhedrons. When triggered, they release a gravitational field that makes anything passing through it unable to move faster than half of its specific maximum movement speed. Machika calls these "slow-field grenades"
                          • General inventory:
                        • Weaknesses:
                          • Bug spray-type chemicals (being a spider, most chemicals of this type have a rather adverse effect on Machika, such as blood poisoning or unconsciousness)
                          • If she has less than a certain amount of body fat in her at any given moment, Machika cannot use her pyrokinetic abilities.
                          • As stated above, Machika is terrified of scorpions, & is severely weakened by scorpion venom
                          • She can be knocked out by being hit in JUST the right spot in her back (when a jorogumo disguises itself as a human, its genitals are where the coccyx is on an actual human. Being hit there is basically a groin attack for 1).
                          • The psychic powers can be blocked.
                          • When she molts, she cannot move her limbs, & has to make sure she's in a position where she doesn't end up caving in on herself (or otherwise in danger) while her new exoskeleton is hardening. This has landed Machika in a few problems, as the chitin lining her digestive track, the plating on her tongue, the lining of the roof of her mouth, & even the interior chitin of her cheeks comes off. Since EVERY piece of chitin comes off, Machika isn't only unable to move, but she's unable to eat or speak.
                          • Any medical problem that can affect an ordinary Nephila clavata affects her in at least all the same ways.
                          • Is klutzy in formal woman's wear, hence aforementioned aversion to footwear that is open-toed &/or non-flat-heeled, dresses, & skirts. The fact that she's 1 of those women who looks prettier in a shirt, pants, & sneakers than she does in a dress or a shirt-&-skirt setup doesn't help matters, either.
                          • Due to her spider physiology, caffeine has the same effect on her that alcohol does on humans.
                        • Biography:
                          • Machika Tabitha Toho was born on October 4, 1990 in Alcoa, Tennessee to a pair of Jorogumos whose ancestors had moved to the States from Japan. Machika's mom was the head of the "anomalous dealings" department for the Alcoa Police Department's Special Weapons And Tactics division, while her dad was a weapons dealer for the United States Air Force. They were a rare case where the wife didn't eat the husband after mating. Machika herself always had a love of music. However, she was highly intelligent for a 3-year old jorogumo. Reading teleportation research documents also sparked an interest in theoretical physics in her stomach-mounted brain.
                          • Girlhood: Machika started trying to make her own music at age 7. Using the dollars she invested from various summer jobs (due to the nature of their jobs, her parents were often away for business. Also, her babysitter was rather open about how children should at least be able to care for themselves in the event of frequently absent parents. However, her parents also devoted as much time as their schedules would allow to raising their child), she purchased a synthesizer keyboard. She had trouble getting through elementary school, more due to racists & specists then bad grades. When she started 4th grade, she met a Greek satyr named Ted Iason (pronounced "yay-sun"). They got along greatly, eventually starting to date. They also attempted to form a band. This failed as a result of Ted's horrid singing skills & their lack of success at coming up with a cool name. Ted had to leave for "vegan training" shortly after they graduated elementary school. Machika had trouble with relationships after that. Her 13th birthday occurred on October 4, 2003.
                          • Adolescence: Machika spent this part of her life doing a lot of working out, as well as training for various firearm licenses. This was in addition to still getting good grades in the end of her junior high school tenure/her whole high school tenure. She also started developing violent tendencies toward those who hurt her loved 1s around this point. On October 4, 2008, Machika turned 18.
                          • Adulthood: On May 12, 2009, Machika graduated high school. Note that information about her life between May 12, 2009 & & August 13, 2019 is largely missing. What is known is that on May 13, 2009, Machika started her career as Boom Spider. 1 month after her 28th birthday, she decided to put her theoretical physics skills to good use & both buy a new laptop & sign up for a college in Sevierville, Tennesee, using money she made from both keyboarding concerts & her superhero career. Her parents (& little sister) were planning on moving to Sevierville at that time, as Rowena (mother) got a transfer while Takeo (father) had to deal with the permanent closing down of the base he was stationed at after the boss was disillusioned with the death of her secretary in a nasty accident. He got full "honorably discharged" status, however, as compensation for losing his job. They finally moved on July 1, 2019. The move was troubling for them, due to everything leading up to it being so sudden. As for Machika herself, she adapted easily, & focused her anthropophagous tendencies on serial killers, rapists, child molesters, pedophiles, higher-tier murderers & other "bad people" of similar caliber. 2 weeks before starting college, she met a man by the name of Thomas Michael Hood (who was starting college at the same time as Machika) while going through hyperspace route systems & ending up in his head while he was dreaming. She lured him to herself with her keyboard skills, & brought him to her mental vision of her then-current house. Even though she tried to eat him at 1st (there was a sadistic museum robber who happened to look exactly like the poor guy, save for the fact that Tom had a nasty bruise on his arm at the time. She was going through hyperspace to track his mental signal, & when she went by Tom's mind, something about him screwed with her telepathic tracking powers & caused her to lose the scent. His similarity in appearance to her intended target caused her to wing it), he managed to explain that she got the wrong man (& showed her his arm injury to prove it). They kept meeting in his dreams (Machika was out at night a lot) until August 26, 2019. On that day, they met in the waking world for the 1st time at the 2019 "Welcome Freshmen" party at Pellissippi State College, where she still got him to come to her by playing her keyboard. She & Tom started dating on August 27, 2019. Over the next few months, Tom met some of Machika's friends. Among these were Janet Johanna Pelham (a bitchy anthropomorphic griffin who became Machika's roommate in college due to issues Janet was having with her own parents) & Wilhelm Wong (an anthropomorphic Feilong who was dating Janet, & whom Tom would end up developing a habit of always calling by his full name). Mara Wu (an anthropomorphic Fenghuang), Xander McNamara (an Each Uisge. Mara & Xander were friends of Janet from high school who happened to be going to the same college as her. Tom met them in the cafeteria 1 day after he was in a history class session that happened at the same time as their psych class), & Jennifer Pukalie (an anthropomorphic hippocampus who was Wilhelm's college roommate) were also with them. Wilhelm Wong, Machika, & Tom started a band called "Kid Camouflage". Tom was on drums, Wilhelm was on bass, & Machika was on keyboard & vocals. Jen joined in later on as the guitarist. As Tom officially came to the conclusion that he was a "weirdness magnet" once again, their 1st big adventure as a couple (& Machika's first big piece of business as "Boom Spider" since moving to Sevierville. Her superhero career was mostly split between the time between her graduating high school & moving to Sevierville, a few brief moments in Sevierville & her time as a resident in Angel Falls.) was an incident in 2020 involving an inter-dimensional terrorist group called "Le Phoenix Vert" (French for "The Green Phoenix"), who based their operations in Machika's world in France. This group was led by 2 individuals called only "The Man With A Beard But No Hair" & "The Woman With Hair But No Beard". This also involved something Machika's boyfriend thought was over & done with in April 2010: On October 9, 2004, 4 of his then-eventual friends discovered a deactivated supercomputer system under the remains of a demolished factory in France's capitol. This system also had teleportation scanners, & was mostly built out of a substance called "exertainium". After activating it, they found a great evil was stored in it. There was also a 12-year-old girl named "Aelita" in there. After finding out the origins of the supercomputer, Aelita, & a virtual world contained in the supercomputer (Aelita got her pre-virtualization memories-which were ripped out of her mind by the trapped evil, thus binding her to the supercomputer-back after they found out the computer's origins. Unfortunately, the evil escaped in that process.), Tom's friends eventually destroyed that evil & shut down the supercomputer. When The Green Phoenix came after them, they found out more about the horrid truth behind the supercomputer: its creator was once a member of The Green Phoenix, & was commissioned to lead "Project Carthage" for them. It was intended to disrupt communications on a global scale, taking the mass panic that terrorists cause up to 11. When the project's leader found out, he decided to atone by defecting & building the supercomputer & the evil to destroy what had been made so far of Project Carthage. When The Green Phoenix kidnapped the leader's wife in retaliation, the leader & Aelita (who was his daughter) fled to a house in the mountains. He managed to finish the Carthage Elimination System, thanks to a convenient "time-reverse" system (he was discovering its capabilities as he went along) that he ended up hitting 2,546 times on June 6, 1994. Finally, when The Green Phoenix field agents (who happen to disguise themselves as the French versions of "Men In Black"-type Government agents) caught up with them, The Creator & Aelita fled to the virtual world. The evil became evil at this point (it was infected with a virus), & The Creator forcibly shut down the supercomputer. The restart of this problem also involved Tom's friends getting a new member to their circle. The evil also got an associate. The evil itself was acting by possessing a college girl (a fragment of the evil survived the attempted deletion) in Los Angeles. After causing initial post-return trouble in France, it went to Staten Island, Tom's hometown. 1 of its 1st targets there was Tom due to his connection with its enemies. It turned out to just need their help with this problem as well so it could be free from the virus. The incident involved the the gang making up with their parents, Aelita reuniting with her mother, the evil being set free of what made it evil, & the Supercomputer being nullified. It was also believed the leaders of the Green Phoenix were destroyed, but they returned. They remembered everything, despite having their memories wiped. Machika was just a bystander who became an active participant in the good side of the new battle. When Machika grew suspicious, the bespectacled man explained everything. Fortunately, they managed to stop it once & for all. In summer 2022, they started fighting against the Elder Gods successfully reclaiming the United States. At this time, Machika started work for Containment Arms, an apartment chain for anomalously-enabled individuals, run by the remains of a company called The Special Containment Procedures Foundation (this company still did their research under that name). The US was taken back from the Gods on September 21, 2022. Things somewhat slowed down afterwards, with Machika moving to her own place (Janet moved in with her) in March 2023. In April 2023, Machika started becoming something of a bitch herself. She sold her (rather expensive) anime DVDs, her collector's toys, & other stuff. She started reinventing herself with the resulting dough, & started preferring to be called "M.T." (This eventually became developed into "Empty".). Machika started taking over more of the band's affairs, recruiting a Dullahan named "Kahn Ferguson" as the new drummer, while Tom switched to guitar & Jen switched to bongos/viola. It came to a head on August 13, 2023, when she dumped Tom & forced him out of her life. Kid Camouflage fell apart as a result of her leaving, in addition to disputes over signing up to work with record companies (some of the band's fellow college students were relatives of record company executives. Wilhelm, Tom, Jen, & Kahn didn't want to sign up due to catching on to what fame does to its bearers. Machika didn't listen). She returned to Alcoa, Tennessee. The change in college led to some trouble getting her theoretical physics PhD back on track. After returning home, she reunited with Ted Iason. He now had psychic abilities as a result of being vegan (mostly telekinesis, energy attacks, levitation, & telepathy). They decided to start an indie rock band called "Bash At Kami-Head". Ted played guitar & Machika was on keyboard. A 3rd member, an anthropomorphic Ningyo named "Morgan Kari", was on drums. Morgan never spoke much, & was mostly in the background (she tended to blend in a lot-she had the ability to literally do so). She had a bionic left arm, complete with telescoping ability, that she got implanted due to an accident with an antidepressant & a Tesla discharge. She was actually Ted's roommate between his college life & reuniting with Machika. The Jorogumo became even more of a bitch, eventually culminating in her reuniting with Tom, Janet, Wilhelm Wong & Paul Pukalie ("Young Paul", as Tom called him, was Jen's younger brother. After the Kid Camouflage broke up, Jen left to continue her education. As a result, Paul both took Jen's place in Wilhelm & Tom's circle of friends & replaced her as Wilhelm's roommate), & being introduced to Penelope Raiku Smith (a human/limnad hybrid who was Tom's girlfriend in his junior/senior years of high school) after 1 of her shows in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in January 2025. Tom had a new girlfriend at this point, an anthropomorphic Egyptian Sun-Scarab named "Nicola Wilhelmina Nour". Ted turned out to have dated Nicola during their latter high school days, & wanted to kill Tom. Even though he initially had the upper hand, Tom tricked him into drinking half & half (being a magnet for the supernatural ever since the day he started junior high school had left Tom broken to the point of immunity to even-partially metaphysical hazards of an even partially psychological &/or spiritual nature, so Ted couldn't read his mind & had to guess at his plans. This enabled the human to use his telepathy against him) & losing his powers (as the authorities put it, "No vegan diet, no vegan powers"). He was also going mentally unstable after Machika dumped him (Ted was cheating on her with Morgan). Earlier, Machika got a hold of Nicola's hammer & tried to squish her. As Tom finally found out, being with Ted made Machika's bitchiness even worse than it already was at the time she dumped Tom. Additionally, she tried to splat Morgan's brains all over the wall with said hammer, but Morgan teleported out after insulting mammals & jorogumos. Machika managed to smash her bionic limb off, though. Nicola kept it for her wall. Shortly before leaving, Machika apologized to Tom. The man commented "What is this, Scott Pilgrim?" 10 months later, Machika was dating Nicola's boyfriend from before Tom. During the fight between the 2 men, she realized the relationship was a hollow 1. After the fight ended, she hugged Tom, finally feeling truly terrible for what she did to him back in Pellissippi. This was their closure. Eventually, she managed to get her theoretical physics PhD. After doing so, she went to get hired by the newly-restarted Schwarz Highlands Research Facility in New Mexico. 10 years after she got that job, she ended up getting laid off due to the company's funding being cut off too much for them to keep all of their employees. This was when she moved to Angel Falls.
                        • Information about her species:
                          • Basic information: Jorogumos are a species of supernatural polymorphic arachnoid native to Japan.
                          • Physiology:
                            • Overview: Jorogumos tend to have a moderately low metabolism, especially considering the fact that their combination of a spider physiology & a human's size should leave them with a ridiculously high metabolism when in human form. They have 6 eyes, 2 large 1s, & 2 under each of those. The smaller eyes are commonly mistaken for freckles. They breath through their hip region, via a series of elaborate folds on the area by the chest region. It should be noted that the abdomen is where the gonads, anus, spinnerets, intestine, heart, & such are kept. The "cephalothorax" contains their brain, eyes, limbs, stomach, mouth, main hearing organs, respiratory organs, kidneys, & such.
                            • Blood circulation: Jorogumos have an open circulatory system, meaning there are no vessels. Instead, blood restores nutrients to internal organs by directly bathing them in specialized "blood sinuses", for lack of a better term. The only true blood vessels are the heart (located in the top of the abdomen) & the aortic network (situated over the top of the stomach in the cephalothorax). Their blood is copper-based & green, as opposed to iron-based & red. Additionally, the immune system is stationed here.
                            • Urinary regulation: Jorogumos possess a set of structures called "Malphigian Tubules", which serve the same function for them that kidneys do in vertebrates. Jorogumos do not urinate, instead they excrete guano (a mixture of fecal matter & urine). The Tubules are loose-floating, open into the digestive tract at their point of attachment, & are closed at their free end.
                            • Digestive system: Jorogumos live on a meat diet, although their bodies are perfectly capable of processing plant matter. They generally seduce, then ensnare unfortunate sentient beings of the opposite gender to themselves, then eat the trapped souls. Their fangs contain a venom that paralyses its victim. The incisor fangs are actually articulated. Additionally, jorogumo saliva contains enzymes that dissolve the internal organs of the victim. The stomach has powerful muscles that let the creature suck the liquefied guts out. The intestine is located in the abdomen, directly underneath the heart. The usual peristalsis/acid results here.
                            • Webs: Like all ordinary spiders, Jorogumos have structures called "spinnerets", which allow them to make webs. It should be noted that despite the fact that their physiology resembles a spider species that lives in webs, Jorogumos only build webs as traps (whether for prey, pranks, or just trying to catch someone to ask them a question). In the event that a Jorogumo ends up using its web as its personal domicile, their feet are designed to minimize the risk of getting themselves stuck in the adhesive goop. The adaptations include a ridged structure on each digit, as well as a tuft of hair on the palm that minimizes direct skin contact with the adhesive. Also, they can eat their own webs in the event of a lack of prey/food shortage.
                            • Reproduction: the gonads of a jorogumo are located on top of its abdomen, offset to each side of the heart. A jorogumo's gonads are very sensitive, like a male human's. Indeed, trauma to the top-left/top-right of a jorogumo's abdomen (or the small of the back in human form) can have the same result as an injury to between the rear legs on a male human: painfully distracted, if not fallen to the ground as a result of nerve twitches in the 4th pair of hips. Both results are usually accompanied by the inflictee using its pedipalps (when a jorogumo assumes human form, its pedipalps become the arms, while its 4th pair of legs become the human legs) to clutch its abdomen while speaking in a significantly higher voice until the pain wears off. During reproduction, the male (who will usually be half the size of his consort) will use his pedipalps to transfer sperm to the female's fertilization cavity. After the eggs are fertilized, the female will often eat the male, unless the male brought a prey item with him.
                            • Respiration: Jorogumos use a structure called "book lungs" to breathe. These structures consist of folded pleats of soft skin, kept moist enough to allow for direct-surface gas exchange by a large amount of blood sinuses & bodily moisture.
                            • Skeleton: Jorogumos have an exoskeleton, with their skin being made of chitin. As a result, when they shed their skin to grow, movement can be incredibly difficult.
                            • Limbs: Jorogumo limbs are very heavily muscled, to the point that they are often able to crumple a lead pipe as though it were paper.
                            • Senses: Jorogumos have very good hearing, which makes detecting prey dangerously easy for them. Their eyes are also very capable when it comes to sensing motion as well as seeing in color/forming images. Their sense of touch is also highly accurate, allowing them to sense INCREDIBLY light vibrations. They have tasting organs in their appendages, allowing them to track prey by essentially tasting the trail they leave behind.
                          • Magic/abilities:
                            • shape-shifting abilities (strong enough to allow them to disguise as inanimate objects, as well as allowing them to copy the abilities of what they disguise themselves as)
                            • telekinesis
                            • offensive energy magic that is universal among yokai
                            • jorogumos have "perception filtration abilities" that go along with their unusual ability to emulate the personality of the individual being impersonated: essentially, when a jorogumo is in disguise, its disguise is seen as having the personality of its impersonatee by the impersonatee's associates, but the jorogumo's true personality by the Jorogumo's associates
                            • They also have fire manipulation abilities which are commonly used both for self defense & everyday things where fire would be useful & safe to use
                            • They also have suggestion/telepathic powers, allowing a strong mental hold over their victims
                            • Their psychic abilities also give the form of a readout in their eyeballs, with stuff like:
                              • an equipment selection menu
                              • a personal vital signs monitor
                              • a protective systems monitor (only active if they're wearing some sort of armor that isn't part of them)
                              • equipment statistics (context sensitive to whatever they happen to have out & on them at the moment, has stuff like ammo tracking, ammo type, a "magazine full" indicator, a "reserve full" indicator, trackers for different ammo types in weapons that function in such a way, battery meters for weapons & equipment that need to be recharged or refueled instead of reloaded, & utility stuff like first-aid kits & ability enhancement stuff. If they have no equipment, this doesn't show up)
                              • an objective menu (only appearing if they have to get something done. Example: if they have to catch something, the psychic HUD will show them where the target item is relative to where the jorogumo is looking.)
                              • a stamina meter (indicates how much physical exertion ability they have at any given moment)
                              • a mana meter (indicates how much they can use their magic before their magic abilities are out of juice)
                              • an oxygen meter (only shows when in a situation where they can't breathe)
                              • a "sprint meter" (records how much running energy they have left. When it runs dry, they have to walk)
                              • an exhaustion bar (represents how much "awake energy" they have at the moment)
                              • a hunger meter (a timer that indicates how long before its user has to eat)
                              • a sanity meter (shows how much-if any-of their mental stability is gone after facing things that could cause insanity)
                              • a "wanted meter" (shows how much of the law enforcement's ire they've raised by psychically syncing with telecommunications networks)
                              • a charge meter (some executions of a jorogumo's energy abilities take time to prepare. This meter shows how close such an attack is to being ready).

The stuff regarding jorogumo physiology is based on my personal experience with real jorogumos.
